may 17, 2020

it's me you guys, i'm back.

there's this "thing" in the air called covid19 and none of us understand it
or like it.
we aren't supposed to leave our houses
or see our grandbabies.
we are supposed to wash our hands about 126 times a day and there's not a
clorex wipe to be found in this whole dang city.
i sewed 35 masks to donate and then ran out of elastic and started planting seeds.

people are teaching themselves to bake bread and make kombucha
like never before.
we don't know what to do with ourselves or how long we'll be
in quarantine and we're all
sick of cleaning drawers and having so much time to think.

 my phone takes such good
pictures that that's about all i use if i'm just shooting for myself and not clients.
then it's a whole lot of work to transfer the phone pics to
my computer, so i rarely do it but here i am showing up with some pretty
pictures to hopefully brighten your day. : )

if you haven't discovered ranunculus you're missing out on
one of the most beautiful flowers in God's creation.
you can find them for sale for just a few precious
weeks in the spring.
buy them when they are in pretty tight buds and they
can grace your table for up to a month.
yes from 3 weeks to a month!!!

having flowers in the house has proven to be as good for your health as a multi-
vitamin. (*that's according to quite a bit of research on my part).
green plants improve air quality and
flowers improve your mood. it's a win-win.
an actual necessity if you ask me.

i tried something my gram used to do to winter over her geraniums.
in the fall you just dig them up, shake off the soil and put them in
a paper grocery bag somewhere cool. (but not freezing).
you do nothing. nothing. no light and no water all through the winter
and then in early spring you pot them back up, water and set them
in a sunny window and i am so excited to report
that all but one of mine leafed back out!

don't you think i should wrap this up with a couple pictures of our precious
grandson's baptism? the day he was baptised was the last day the country was
allowed to run around like normal crazy people before we all got our
quarantine orders to stay at home.
that seems like a long time ago but i am trusting we'll see normal again before too
much longer- and until then i'll be digging in the dirt with my gardening apron on,
drinking ice tea and picking bouquets for my table and if you're close by hopefully
there will be enough to share with you too!

keep being patient and kind,
xox
