i promised to show you the other two projects i whipped up when i had my sewing machine out the other day. the first one was a revision of a burlap table runner i saw on a blog. i just
wanted to use supplies i had on hand and so i started with some cream linen like cotton. i cut two squares that were about 12 x 12 and hemmed them. next i got a cardboard box (out of the recycling) and free handed a bunny on it and then cut it out with an exacto knife.
now i hadn't stenciled anything for a long time- but it is super easy so that was next.
i used both brown and black craft paint for a mottled effect.
after letting them dry, i ironed them to set the paint and then just created fluffy tails, one out of an old sweater cuff and the other out of some soft white cotton. i pinch/gathered the fluffs and sewed them on with my machine.
on a roll now, i decided to make one more table topper. using some vintage seam binding i machine sewed some simple stems on a third hemmed square. then i just played around and created 3 different flowers (which were originals- not even anything i saw anywhere and tried to copy!) i know....amazing.... so NOT....but anyway, here is the finished product.
i'm still going to post a bunch of photos of my easter decorating. i've just
had a whole bunch of things i want to blog about lately and i'm trying to pace myself. : )
spring officially arrived today.
mentally it just feels so good!
hugs, beth
